British rider Geraint Thomas, who is a part of Team Sky at present, has admitted that he has a lot of offers on the table from different teams and is considering the offers from them.
The Welshman is in the final year of his contract with the star studded team, which ends in December this year and his representatives have already held meetings with several different teams over a potential move. Thomas himself has said that along with an offer to extend his stay at Team Sky, he has another four or five offers to consider.
Thomas stated that there has been a lot of interest in his services and a lot of teams have shown a keen interest in taking him on board.
The highly talented rider is a double Olympic champion and he joined Team Sky when it was first formed four years back after spending some time with Barloworld.
Geraint Thomas was the leader of Team Sky at this season’s Paris-Nice stage race but his stunning crash in the penultimate stage of the race scuppered any chance he had on winning the event.
He admitted that he has been speaking to Team Sky at the moment and although it is too early to comment on the future, he thinks he might be able to sort things out in a couple of weeks.
Thomas mentioned that there is no doubting the qualities of Team Sky as one of the best teams on the circuit but it is also good to have a look at the other teams and what they bring on the table.
Geraint Thomas also added that it is an immense confidence booster when three or four teams are fighting it out for his signature and tells him that he is on the right track as well.
