Brit cycling star Cavendish lost out to Kittel by inches at the finale of 2014 Britain Tour whilst Baarle triumphed as the overall champion.
Baarle accomplished the yellow jersey for leader on 7th stage of the Tour & maintained his lead post time-trial the next day, which was won by Bradley Wiggins. He then had a safe finish in peloton on final stage where he won by ten seconds.
Kwiatkowski (Michal) was the 2nd overall & Wiggins took the 3rd position. The Tour France 2012 winner was the defending champ for the Britain Tour this year.
An early 5-man breakaway was formed on final stage of the Tour- more than ten laps of 8.8 kilometer circuit was used for time trial earlier. However, they’re caught with around 5.5 kilometer left as sprinters’ squads vied for the esteemed status, ahead of tough dash for line. The tough fight saw Kittel pitted against Mark Cavendish on the Whitehall & just when it seemed that the star Manxman had already edged ahead, Kittel came back & dramatically won another triumph on Irish and British soil this year.
It implies that he has triumphed at Giro stages in Dublin & Belfast, Tour France stages at London & Harrogate as well as Britain Tour stages in London & Liverpool. “It’s great to finish Tour in center of the English capital”, stated Cavendish. “Wiggo won in the morning & I would have liked to win this afternoon.”
The Britain Tour win was a phenomenal one for Baarle as it was the grandest triumph of his riding career still.
“I expected to be on top ten. It means huge. I would remember the day throughout my entire life”, stated the new proud yellow jersey holder of Britain Tour.
