Britain is hailed as a nation going crazy over cycling with the decision of beginning the Tour de France in Yorkshire. He suffered due to a disease two years ago. The Tour de France starting in Britain has tattered and weather beaten roads and lots of money has also been spent on it.

The country is going crazy so much so that it is estimated that 3.1 million riders ride a bike generally on the roads maximum number of times. According to him it was Bradley Wiggins who began the craze in Britain. Due to him the psyche of males has gone transformation and he has proved to be the tragic hero as stated by Aristotle. He is also hailed as the person to infect the others with this cycling disease. Wright suffered from being overweight, middle aged man but he had the urge to do something hence the disease also spread to him.

Thomas himself has said that along with an offer to extend his stay at Team Sky, he has another four or five offers to consider.

The highly talented rider is a double Olympic champion and he joined Team Sky when it was first formed four years back after spending some time with Barloworld.

Geraint Thomas was the leader of Team Sky at this season’s Paris-Nice stage race but his stunning crash in the penultimate stage of the race scuppered any chance he had on winning the event.

Bradley Wiggins is ready to ride on his home soil this year at the Tour de France. Armstrong Promises Open Confession

Lance Armstrong has promised to help UCI doping inquiry that is to be carried by a new 3-men panel. The disgraced rider has vowed to share open & honesty testimony.

Armstrong has agreed with the confession part even after conceding that the life ban imposed on him won’t be lessened for full confession. The infamous cycling legend confirmed his agreement to an open confession via Twitter.

Last November, Armstrong indicated that his participation into the inquiry would be determined on the basis of treatment meted out to him- he wanted to be treated like others concerning the inquiry.

Later on it emerged that the new 3-men panel UCI probe commission team would have the power to confer complete amnesty to those who aren’t convicted of doping offence. The news is that it would not be able to offer the same incentive to Armstrong & he won’t be permitted to compete in the triathlons.

Sources closer to the disgraced rider confirmed that lance has always declared to offer whatever support possible regarding the doping probes of UCI, no matter whether his ban was reduced or not. The only thing Lance wants is a comprehensive approach from the commission and not any witch hunt measure targeted at one or two individuals.
The new 3-men UCI probe panel comprises of a war-crime investigator, professor & a politician.

Confirming that the commission has already started on with its works, Brian Cookson stated-“This new commission has the responsibility to investigate the different problems faced by the cycling in the past years, specifically allegation pointing UCI as an involved member in the past wrongdoings.

Their work would be to find what went wrong in the sport as well as to introduce recommendations for a positive change to assure that the mistakes aren’t repeated again.”
Brian Cookson is the newly elected President of UCI.

Urán could have written Olympic history differently

Rigoberto Urán, made news when he won silver in the summer Olympic 2012. He is also the only
Colombian to make the podium when he finished second in the Giro d’Italia.

Vincenzo Nibali took the first spot in the 2013 edition where he took over the wheels of Team Sky after Captain Wiggins abandoned ship. The renowned cyclist was born on 26th January, 1987 and is presently a member of the UCI World Tour Team Sky. In the Giro he also garnered the mountain-top stage win and was adjudged as the best young rider and awarded the white jersey the previous year. He finished an overall seventh position in the event.

Uran became the member of Team Sky in the 2011 season and earned the White Jersey for the best young rider after he took over as the leader when Bradley Wiggins went out of the race with a crash. His first win for Team Sky was achieved during the 2012 seasons at 2012 Volta a Catalunya on Stage 4. His greatest moment came when he was racing for the title of Summer Olympic road race for men in 2012 where he had to just pip the Kazak cyclist Alexander Vinokourav for a win. Both riders broke away from a desperately trying British team near Buckingham Palace and 5 miles to cover.

A slight misjudgment deprived Uran of the gold when there were barely 200 meters to cover. He unwisely looked over his shoulder to his left to see whether other cyclists were bearing on him and failed to notice Alexander Vinokourov tearing on his right side. This is when the Kazak cyclist kicked off a sprint that took the Colombian by surprise. His delayed reaction could not recover the gap between him and Vinokourov and the later finished with the gold medal. Olympic history would have been written differently if only Rigoberto had looked over his right shoulders.

Ben Cook’s cycling in Marin

Ben Cook, last weekend, took 2nd spot in state championship road race. While 2nd would be the best that many cyclists could expect for at a state race, the fourteen year old rider from Greenbrae has quite well – two times.

Earlier, Cook won state championship criterium in the thirteen to fourteen age group as well as the state championship time trial in thirteen and fourteen age group. This is not quite bad for someone who begun biking just two years ago.

Cook’s coach on Team Swift, Laura Charameda told that she could see from the beginning that he and the natural talent and ability. He is also a great teammate, a well spoken nice young man. While success in cycling has come very quick, it took some time for Cook to find something he preferred.

Growing up in Virginia, Ben never took part in a whole lot of sports and he was quite overweight. When he moved to Marin with his family two years ago, Ben started riding very casually. And after that he just fell into that.

For the next 6 – 7 months, he just rode with his friends and parents, without getting serious about it. Later he decided to race. His first race turned out to be 2012 state championship criterium in the 13 – 14 age group. He got 5th the last position on the podium. He told that he was not very sure how did these things happen. But he was sure that he wanted this to happen. Later he joined Team Swift where there were several riders of his age.
